RV Park Grounds

We purchased the undeveloped heavily wooded 35 acre lot for Harmony Ridge RV park in Oct 2021. We launched a YouTube Channel "The RV Park Builder" to memorialize our RV Park construction and build activities. This webpage is intended to help other individuals who want to build their own RV park.

6x6 Post Solar Lighting

These solar lights also work on 5x5 and 4x4 posts.

We have gotten nothing but compliments and praise for our selection of Solar lights perched on top of our 6x6 posts throughout our RV park.

The solar lights come with a 1000mAh AA rechargeable battery. We have replaced the batteries with these AA's, which have much more capacity (2800mAh).

Tree LED Lighting

We teamed these LED light strings up with a timer and smart dimmer that can be controlled from a phone app. We were going for that old fashion yellow filament look and they are amazing!

We strung 2 sets of these end to end for a total length of 300 feet. We strung them from pine tree to pine tree in our woods expecting the wind, storms and rain would have destroyed them in a few months. We are a happy to say that it's almost been a year and we haven't had any issue with them lighting up every night on a dusk to dawn sensor and timer (see below).

Note, These 2700K lights have the same glow as our gooseneck barn lights listed on the Instructure link.

This Dusk to Dawn Timer is exactly what we were looking for. We set the dial on 4 hrs and our lights automatically turn on at dusk. Then the timer begins it's 4 hour countdown to turn the lights off around bedtime! We are hoping this saves a little energy and extends the life of the LED lights.

We have this plugged in to the outlet first. Then the smart home dimmer and finally the LED lights.

We plug the timer into the GFCI protected outlet first. Then plug the smart dimmer into the timer. Finally, the LED lights into the smart dimmer. We can control (on, off, dim) these tree lights from hundreds of feet away.

No smart hubs required. Just download the Kasa app on your phone can you can dim your LED lights. At first, we wondered how this dimmer would work with LED lights. We received the product and it has the ability to calibrate the LED dimmer, which worked great for us. Highly recommend!

Weed Control

Disclaimer: We are not chemical experts and may not completely understand the risks of using Chemicals to control weeds and vegetation. Please do your own safety research before using our recommendations. Glyphosate is one of the main active ingredients in Roundup. A Surfactant is another active ingredient which makes the Glyphosate stick to the weeds better resulting in more effective weed control. For more information, see the EPA's website on Glyphosate. We feel comfortable using generic Glyphosate without a Surfactant, but not so sure on the Surfactant version. That's why we have listed both below so you can decide what is best for your use case.

We use this 15gal ATV sprayer in our UTV to control weeds. We use generic Glyphosate mixed with water. It takes about a week for the application to take effect, but it's much more cost effective.

Note: PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is strongly recommended when working with weed killers.

We use generic Glyphosate mixed with water. These 2.5gal jugs are pricey, but your resulting mix will be mostly water and a little bit of Glyphosate. This jug will make many batches and will end up being so much cheaper than the name brands in the long run.

It takes about a week for the application to take effect, but it's much more cost effective.

Note: PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is strongly recommended when working with weed killers.

The Gly Star Plus contains a surfactant, which makes the Glyphosate stick to the weeds better/longer. We have actually purchased ours from our local Tractor Supply store, but you could order a similar product from Amazon and have it delivered right to your door with this link.

Note: PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) is strongly recommended when working with weed killers.
