Buffalo River - Kayaking, Canoes and Tubing

We are just a minute from the Buffalo River and several Buffalo River outfitters that offer various excursions down the scenic buffalo river. If floating the Buffalo sounds appealing to you, just let us know and we will provide recommendations! #comettroy took his first kayak trip Labor Day Weekend and he made a video of the experience.

Live Music at the Commodore

The Historic Commodore Hotel built in 1939 and rescued from ruin in 2007, is the heart of hospitality and tourism in the quaint town of Linden, Tennessee. The Music Cafe located in the Commodore Hotel offers live music during select weekends. Check their events page for availability.

Linden Artisans

Linden’s Main Street features a thriving community of artists and creatives. Visit the Buffalo River Artists Cooperative, featuring arts and crafts from more than a dozen local artists.

Just across the street is Main Street Marketplace, featuring an equal number of makers, showcasing jewelry, handmade soaps, textiles, decorative home goods, baked goods and much more.

Each year in Linden, the arts community is celebrated with the Blooming Arts Festival, the region’s premiere event. Featuring more than 150 artisans and vendors, live music, and activities for the entire family, click the link above to see event dates.

Natchez Trace Parkway

Just east of Harmony Ridge RV Park is the Natchez Trace Parkway, part of the National Park Service (nps.gov).

A Drive through 10,000 Years of History

The Natchez Trace Parkway is a 444-mile recreational road and scenic drive through three states. It roughly follows the "Old Natchez Trace" a historic travel corridor used by American Indians, "Kaintucks," European settlers, slave traders, soldiers, and future presidents. Today, people can enjoy not only a scenic drive but also hiking, biking, horseback riding, and camping along the Parkway.

Area Wineries

If wine is your thing, several wineries within a very scenic 43 minute drive of Harmony Ridge RV Park:

North West of Harmony Ridge RV Park towards Centerville:

Horseshoe Bend Farm Wines (27.8 miles/43 minutes from HRRP) - Perched on a ridgetop overlooking a vast valley, we found this modern winery to be very comfortable and welcoming on a September Saturday afternoon.  They had live music outside in their pavilion and had a good selection of drink concoctions made with wine and other mixers including one called a "Horseshoe Mary" made with Tomato wine. The relatively new owners worked the tasting room themselves and were very welcoming!

Grinder's Switch Winery (Centerville) (31.1 miles/43 minutes from HRRP) - We really enjoyed visiting this winery as it felt like we were in a fairy tale visiting a Witches log cabin deep in the woods. Inside the login cabin was a very cozy, warm and welcoming atmosphere. The grounds have a large outdoor seating area in a wooded setting surrounded by several outbuildings where you can consume your wine. The centerville location was a private residence built in 1981/1982 and then was converted to a Winery in 2006 after the owners transformed their hobby into a small family run business. They have satellite locations in Nashville and Columbia. Their wine can be found in many area liquor stores.

Why not check them both out? The two above wineries are just 9.5 miles (15 min) from each other

Pro Tip: These wineries have 3 similar routes from HRRP, why not take one route on the way there and a different route on the way back?

Pro Tip: Make sure to take TN-438 route and stop at the Cane Creek Market, who offers bulk, organic, and wholesale foods. Candies, canners, cookbooks, and Rada products. We believe it is owned and operated by the Mennonite craftsmen/craftswomen. In addition to Cane Creek Market, there are a few (but not many) Mennonite owned farm based businesses along TN-438 making it worth the drive.

West of Harmony Ridge RV Park:

Keg Springs Winery (39.7 miles/56 minutes from HRRP)

Amber Falls Winery (34.3 miles/47 minutes from HRRP)

Natchez Hills Vineyard and Winery(36.0 miles/47 minutes from HRRP)

Why not check them both out? The above three wineries are just 8.7 miles (14 min) from each other

From HRRP, you'll be taking Hwy 412 West most of the way through Hohenwald and then cross over the Natchez Trace Parkway to get to these wineries. Hwy 412 is a very easy route to drive without much traffic and sharp curves.

Pro Tip: Did you know that we have an Elephant Sanctuary 20 minutes from HRRP? It's in downtown Hohenwald and you'll be going right past it!

Motorcycle Riding

Harmony Ridge RV Park Owner's are motorcycle enthusiasts and they very much enjoy riding the rural roads of Middle Tennessee. Perry County only has 8300 people in the entire county including just 2 small incorporated towns, both less than 1000 people. This means the roads to very open for great motorcycling with very few four wheelers (cars/trucks) getting in the way! We have been all over the area on 2 wheels and can recommend some great rides and places to see. We may even willing to lead some group rides to some of our favorite places.

Amenities

Free WiFi - The Best in the Country

We treat our RV park Internet as a small town where each home gets it's own WiFi router. At Harmony Ridge RV Park, each RV site has it's own hardwired WiFi router mounted right on the pedestal. We have selected the Business Fiber option for our RV Park so our Internet traffic gets prioritized over their residential users.

If you are a remote worker or content creator, come on out with piece of mind that you'll have great Internet access (download AND UPLOAD) for all your remote access needs. There is even a live Ethernet jack at each RV site where you can direct connect without WiFi (some employer's require this).
